I am Helen, full-time Celebrant and creator of Helen Marshall Ceremonies based in West Yorkshire.
If you are looking for a fun, passionate, creative celebrant who can deliver laughter and tears, and fit right in with your family and friends, I am your girl!
A ceremony written just for you, with you, to express you.
“True love stories never have endings” – Richard Bach
As we get to know each other, I will help bring your story to life and prepare you for your new journey together.
When you think about your wedding what do you see? Where are you? Who is there? What do you hear? And most importantly, how do you feel?
- What do you want to say and what do you want everyone to hear?
- Are there music and songs? What are they?
- What colours are there? What are you wearing?
- Are your dogs there (yes, why not?!)
- Who isn’t there that you miss? Do you want to honour them somehow?
There are so many elements that make up your wedding ceremony and that’s exactly why you need me! What is your story? Where did you start? Where are you now? Where are you going? I will be there with you every step of the way helping to create the most wonderful, unique, and individual expression of who you both are.
Tell me what you love about each other. What do you promise and hope for? Are there any traditions or rituals that are meaningful to you both?
Your wedding can be anything you want. Funny, serious, meaningful, informal, or formal, religious, or not. We have no restrictions here – not on venue, time, what we can say, or who can be involved.
Love is for everyone, magical that isn’t it?
I like you very much. Just as you are” – Bridget Jones’ Diary
You might have decided that marriage is just not for you. Celebrant ceremonies are about finding what’s right, what’s meaningful and what fits for you as a couple.
And of course, not choosing a traditional marriage doesn’t mean you are out of options in terms of showing your commitment and sharing your relationship with the people around you. You’ve got thoughts on it and you want to find a way to celebrate each other and being together. Which is exactly where I come in!
Commitment ceremonies differ from weddings only in that there are no legal implications attached. That’s it. You can still exchange rings if you want to, you can still make vows or promises to each other. You can make a ritual of your relationship and have an amazing party to celebrate your love. So much to think about and choose.
In essence, it’s a gorgeous way of standing up and declaring your love and commitment.
That’s it. Simple, beautiful, heartfelt.
“The best thing to hold onto is each other” – Audrey Hepburn
Perhaps you are celebrating a special anniversary?
Maybe you have come through illness or hard times?
Maybe you did not have the wedding you wanted originally and now is the time to put things right. You might want a ceremony that involves your children or grandchildren.
A moment of appreciating and being thankful for everything you have done and built together.
Whatever your reason, a vow renewal is a wonderful option. An opportunity to share with the people you love how important your marriage is and what it means to you.
Do you want to repeat your original vows or create new ones?
Are you including other people? How do you want to do that?
Are there definitive moments throughout your life together that you want to talk about?
I am here to guide you through and create a gorgeous ceremony that you can share with the people that matter most.
Naming & Welcoming
“Rejoice with your family in the beautiful land of life” – Albert Einstein
If you are looking for an alternative to a traditional christening, then this is the one for you.
When my children were babies, I had two options. A traditional church christening or nothing. How times have changed. Now there are so many different options to choose from as religion and beliefs have moved on.
A Naming and Welcoming ceremony is a joyful occasion. But it does not have to be just for a baby. Perhaps, you have adopted a child, of any age, and want to celebrate that. Maybe you have merged your families when you got together or got married and want to celebrate a change of name. Maybe you have changed your gender or identity and want to celebrate.
There are some amazing things that can be included in the ceremony to make it totally unique, memorable, and very special.
We can celebrate anywhere you like and whenever you like. Everybody deserves to be celebrated in the right way, which is why a Welcoming & Naming Ceremony is a cause for celebration, love, and joy.
This is a negative free zone!
I am the first person your family and friends will meet on the day.
A big smile, a warm welcome and loving vibe is all anyone wants.
I hear you.
That is the point of it all. I am listening and learning and getting to know you.
Love is love, it’s for everyone.
It is not just about you. Well it is, but let’s keep that one to ourselves! Your ceremony is going to be magical. It’s for everyone. I want to see happy tears, laughter, and joy from everybody that is there to embrace the moment.
Be assured, I’ve got you on this one. Words are important and I am going to choose the perfect ones for you both. It is the little details that matter to me, attention to detail and going that extra mile. That is what sets me apart.
